ABOUT "GO GREEN"

GO GREEN is an environmental outreach and stewardship program organized by We Sense's youth volunteer team. It's designed to inspire and engage participants through hosting creative and educational events focused on the three Rs - "Reduce, Re-use & Recycle," incorporating themed exhibits, and interactive and hands-on activities using recycled materials. The program goals are:

AWARENESS: Develop a greater awareness of the waste problem and impact through individual choices in daily lives.
SOLUTION: Understand and do what we can do - the three Rs: Reduce, Re-use, and Recycle.
ACTION: Invite participants to make positive changes.

Introducing EcoEye

EcoEye App is a friendly technology tool created by our youth team. It utilizes the mobile phone camera and AI recognition technology to classify various wastes and their recyclability. EcoEye App incorporates AI-Vision technology from Google’s ML Kit and IBM Watson services. Using these services, we can classify whether a product is recyclable or not. The clean app UI, made with Flutter SDK, also makes the app more engaging to use. We are working on gamifying it as next step, so users can join to compete for top recyclers.

With the growing importance of technology, we are particularly excited about the prospects of EcoEye app in motivating and improving recycling practices. We hope you would join us for improving recycling with technology. Contact us if you are interested in participating in our next demo event!

GO GREEN-HOLIDAY ACTION

EVENT PROGRAM:

Holiday Recycled-arts Display

There will be a display of holiday themed projects highlighting the the use of recycled materials. Notable projects include: A "Holiday Village" and "Polar Express" made just from recyclable materials with some simple additions.

Educational Ornaments

Simple ornaments featuring environmental facts will be showcased as well as taught so that kids can take something meaningful home.

"Trashy Quiz" and Game Station

There will be games and a "Trashy Quiz" regarding the important facts and issues concerning the three Rs - Reduce, Re-use & Recycle. Small prizes will be awarded.

DIY Ornaments Station

Participants will make and take home holiday decorations, using recycled materials. Show off your endless creativity while reducing, re-using & recycling waste!
